Rachel: (limited duties) She is currently serving her 2nd deployment in Iraq which puts her on limited duty here at MRCC. Home based out of Camp Lejeune, Rachel was a friend of a fellow Marine that was raped and murdered there. Rachel also experienced sexual harassment and witnessed a sexual assault cover-up during her first deployment in Iraq and vowed to not remain silent about what her brothers and sisters are experiencing. Due to her Active Duty status she is limited on what she can speak about but is in the process of developing a blog from Iraq about the daily struggles of being a woman Marine. We'll keep you posted. Rachel can be reached at:rachel.gowan@gmail.com
Office Support:
We couldn't do the work that we do without our office support. These volunteers work out of our Greater Boston area office.
Amanda L. (Coast Guard Veteran) and Sue T. (Army Veteran)
Street Team:
The Street Team hits the street with knowledge and the desire to offer support to all survivors. Some are Active Duty, others are veterans but what they all have in common is that they understand the injustice that sexual assault survivors face reporting a rape in the military. They can be found outside military bases handing out fliers about Military Sexual Trauma, at conferences and other outreach events.
